Fix sideways, upside-down, or mis-scanned PDF pages in seconds

A PDF with even a single sideways page reads badly and prints worse. Most of the time the cause is innocent — someone fed paper into a scanner the wrong way, an app exported a landscape slide alongside portrait pages, or a phone was held wrong while capturing receipts. The OkFarsi Rotate PDF tool fixes those rotations cleanly by rewriting the page rotation metadata inside the PDF, not by overlaying a rotated image on top of the original content. That distinction matters: a real rotation keeps text selectable, keeps search working, keeps hyperlinks intact, and produces a file that prints correctly on paper.

You can rotate every page by the same amount (useful when an entire scan came out sideways) or rotate only specific pages that are mis-oriented. The tool supports 90° clockwise, 90° counter-clockwise (or 270° clockwise), and 180° for upside-down pages. Previews show each page as a thumbnail so you can confirm the orientation before committing.

Rotation is non-destructive. The output is a new PDF with your chosen rotation applied; the original upload is untouched, and nothing else about the document changes — text content, fonts, images, bookmarks, and form fields all pass through without modification. The operation is also lossless for born-digital PDFs: no re-rendering, no image re-compression, and no quality degradation. For scanned PDFs, the underlying page image is rotated too, with no pixel loss.

How to rotate a PDF in 4 steps

  1. Upload the PDF you want to rotate

Drag the file onto the upload area or click to browse. The tool loads a thumbnail grid of every page so you can see the current orientation at a glance.

  2. Select the pages to rotate

Choose all pages for a uniform rotation, or click individual thumbnails to target only the mis-oriented ones. Shift-click or range-select if your tool supports it.

  3. Pick the rotation angle

Tap 90° clockwise, 90° counter-clockwise, or 180° (upside-down) and watch the thumbnails update live so you can confirm the result.

  4. Download the corrected PDF

Run the job, download the rotated file, and verify in any PDF reader. Selecting text on a rotated page should still extract in the correct reading order.

Common use cases

  • Scanned stacks with mixed orientations

Fix receipts, invoices, or signed contracts that came out of the scanner sideways because the feeder guides were off.

  • Phone-captured documents

Correct pages photographed with a phone held horizontally when the rest of the document is portrait.

  • Prepare before merging

Normalize the orientation of multiple source PDFs before combining them, so the merged file flows naturally page to page.

  • Fix before printing

Make sure every page prints the right way up, even when the source file was rotated accidentally during export.

Privacy & security

Your PDF is uploaded over HTTPS and processed on an isolated worker. Rotation is a metadata operation — the tool never extracts, indexes, or retains the contents of your document. Source uploads and rotated outputs are both deleted from our servers shortly after your download completes, and we retain only an anonymous job identifier afterward. No third-party APIs are called during rotation; the job runs entirely inside our infrastructure.

Frequently asked questions

Does rotating a PDF lose quality?

No. Rotation changes the page orientation metadata and rotates the underlying page content without re-encoding. Text stays selectable, images stay at original resolution, and the file is essentially the same size as the original.

Can I rotate only a few specific pages?

Yes. Click individual page thumbnails to select them and apply the rotation only to the selection. Unselected pages pass through untouched.

Why does the rotation preview look right but the printed page is still sideways?

Some older PDF readers ignore the rotation metadata when printing. If you hit this, re-save the file through a modern reader (Acrobat, Preview, or Chrome) before printing — the modern reader bakes in the rotation.

Will rotating break form fields or annotations?

Form fields, annotations, and hyperlinks rotate along with their page, so they stay functional. If you experience issues, check that you are opening the rotated PDF in a current-generation reader.

Can I rotate a password-protected PDF?

Not directly. Unlock the PDF first with the correct password (using the Unlock PDF tool if you are the authorized user), rotate it, and re-protect if needed.

Is the rotated file deleted from your server?

Yes. Both the uploaded source and the rotated output are removed shortly after download completes. We retain only an anonymous job identifier for operational metrics.
